The organic certification video on this page was produced in 2012, and it explains what a farmer needs to do to become a certified organic producer in Pennsylvania.
Since the time of the video, enough input has been received to make it seem that there is a need for a broader examination of the term "organic." There are farmers in the ten-county PNERCD region who have not gotten "certified" and don't plan to. Yet, by all measures the food (vegetables and meats) would meet most definitions of healthy. So, a healthy extended discussion of organic versus healthy foods should be held. Hopefully the result would be a better understanding for the consumer on what and where to look for healthy food.
