The Council is a non-profit organization with a 501c3 determination from the IRS. Therefore the Council receives the large majority of its budget from federal, state, and local grant funding sources in order to perform the projects and programs within the area. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) provides support for the RC&D Council through a Coordinator position, to assist them with accomplishing the goals and objectives set forth in their Area Plan, or strategic plan.
